Ingredients

Instructions
Heat olive oil in a large saucepan over medium-high. Add chopped onion and pressed garlic and saute for 4 minutes, stirring a few times while cooking.
Add remaining ingredients: crushed tomatoes, Italian spice, tomato paste, and fresh basil sprig stir to combine.
Cook until it reaches a simmer then reduce heat low, cover and continue to cook 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Before serving, remove the fresh basil and/or bay leaf (if using)
