One-Board-Bench DIY

Sharing is caring!

The idea for this easy, quick, and budget-friendly project came about when I asked Mister Kippi at Home to make a pattern for a versatile bench that I could make by myself. Once again, he hit it out of the park and made me a pattern for the One-Board-Bench. I could not wait to share the results with you. We needed extra seating for an event, and this bench was the best idea to keep us on budget. If you have been reading my blog, you know I especially LOVE DIY projects and getting my hands dirty. Paint, wood, sandpaper, wax, stencils, etc., are the basic elements for happiness around my home and garden.

After I made the first one, I could not stop myself from making a few more benches hence the three benches pictured in this post. The One-Board-Bench is perfect for welcoming visitors on your porch, also providing extra seating at the dining table; it could be used as a rustic coffee table or as a bench at the end of a bed.

For my smallest One-Board-Bench, I painted and added a stencil.

I wanted to add a touch of whimsy to my medium size One-Board-Bench. I used two DBP stencils (wreath and deer) and two of the paint colors I used on the other benches. When they are not in use, I planned to stack them up to store and display to this end they needed to coordinate.

This photo shows pocket screws for assembly, which obviously was my choice since the screws are concealed. It makes for a cleaner and more professional look.
