Last Minute Halloween Decorations

Sharing is caring!

:Easy and super thrifty last minute Halloween decorations can be ready in a flash but will look like they took all day to create. If you have been following my blog posts then you already know that I am obsessed with anything vintage. So, these last minute Halloween decorations are a nod to the my Grandmother’s vintage enamelware. She had a white with black outlined enamel kitchen table and the pots and pans too. I can see them in my mind’s eye. Some of my fondest memories were from meals and games played around that table.

Halloween Bat Tree

The bat tree I made a few years ago and have used it for Easter eggs, Valentine hearts, Christmas bulbs and Halloween bats. I used branches from my yard and spray insulation in the can to fill in around and hold the branches in the clay pot. You will love that these are easy, fast to craft and can be used all year!

How to Make Halloween Enamelware

I purchased plain clay pots and saucers and painted them white chalk paint. I waited about 30 minutes and then taped off around the areas I was planning to paint black. As soon as I had the tape smoothed on as tight as possible I painted the edges with the black paint and removed the tape.

Halloween Art Deco 31

Now for the fun part…adding the 31. I used a font that looked Art Deco to go along with the vintage enamelware inspiration. The free PDF for the 31 and the bat are available below. The instructions about tracing onto the surface are from an earlier post see it HERE. Trace the bats on black construction paper then cut out along the traced lines. I added some folds on the wings to add some dimension. Then I used double sided tape and taped them to clothes pins and clipped them to the branches.

More Last Minute Halloween Decorating Ideas

I wanted to share some more of my easy DIY Halloween decorations you can make this weekend. The China hutch has a few DIY Halloween crafts, but my favorite are the lanterns sitting on the top right. They started out as an out-of-date pair of orange and yellow lanterns that I purchased from the Goodwill see how I transformed them.

Nothing says Happy Halloween like tall porch signs, so why not grab a board and some paint and make some? One is made with vinyl cut with my Cricut Maker and other is totally made with chalk paint.
