Ingredients
½cupunsalted butter softened
8ozcream cheese (brick)
3¾cuppowdered sugar *
1tspvanilla extract
¼tspsalt
Instructions
Place softened butter and a brick of cream cheese in a mixer bowl.Cream together using an electric mixer.
Add vanilla extract and salt to the butter mixture then blend to incorporate.
Next, add powdered sugar a little at a time, beating between each addition.
Notes
*Note: Add more powdered sugar if the frosting is too thin. If it is too thick, add a teaspoon of milk.
Tips for making Cream Cheese Frosting
Always use full-fat cream cheese brick (never use the spreadable type).
Add enough powdered sugar (3 to 4 cups) to make a firm, thick, pipable frosting.
