Window Treatment Transformation:

This window treatment transformation began with a phone call from a client who made the panels pictured below.  She was not satisfied with the look of her treatment, and she did not know how to get the look she envisioned.  Hence, she called me to ask if I could help. I asked her to emailed me a photo of her window treatment (see her photo below).  I saw several problems from the photo: I felt that the main fabric print was upside down, they are not lined or hemmed, pattern repeats do not lineup in the center, the cream fabric at the bottom does not line up in the center. Sorry the photo is not a good one, but you can see the problems these panels had.

I made an appointment with the client to pickup the panels and to measure her windows.

I needed to have more cream fabric so could make that cream color block longer since I had to cut (alter) the blue fabric to make the fabric patterns match in the center. However,  the client used all the cream fabric. She then remembered she purchased a coordinating chevron fabric too. I was hopeful that this third fabric would save the project. After determining that these panels were to be stationary, so why not arrange them as stationary panels? I had to use the existing hardware, so I had to find rings to match.

I starting by seam ripping all the seams and then determining how long the original blue and cream fabric would be after trimming it to make the patterns match. Then I knew how long the other two fabrics needed to be. Notice the pattern match in the chevron ban. Then I gathered the “fancy” ban and attached to the blue and cream. Then I attached the linings and pinch pleated the top. I made a return on the outside of each panel to cover the area between the panel and the wall. These are custom treatment details that make your treatment so much prettier. I found this post on how to hem panels like a pro.
