Nothing is more patriotic than the American flag. While making my 4th of July decorations I wanted to remember what the holiday is about and why we celebrate it. When I decided to make these signs I choose to let freedom ring since it says it all. I cannot wait to add these block signs to my decor to help remind us of the true meaning of Independence Day.

4th of July Decorations DIY
You will be glad to hear that these signs took less than an hour (including dry time) to create. I used scrap wood and leftover chalk paint so they were free, so why not make some too? They would be nice on your desk at work as well as in your home decor.

Just a few quick steps and your signs are finished.
- Grab your free download for the designs (words)
- Cut your wood scraps into 4″, 4.5″ and 8″ lengths (I used 2 by 4 scraps) sand the cut edges
- Paint the blocks (I used chalk paint)
- I used my Cricut Maker and cut vinyl, but you can use graphite paper and trace the words (see how I do that HERE)
You can watch our video HERE (sorry it’s a little out of focus) but it shows you how to make these.

4th of July Centerpiece
This centerpiece is a combination of simple elements that make a big visual impact when group together. I added some organic elements (lemons and eucalyptus) to the table to add more interest and summery colors, as well as the rustic floral arrangement I made with a jar and wire lid.

My simple DIY signs are the focal point in this festive 4th of July tablescape.
4th of July Firecrackers
These super adorable firecrackers and rockets were made by my daughter, Olivia. She used paper towel tubes and items she had on hand to create these cuties. See how she made them HERE.

Up-cycled Jar Candle Holders
Setting the mood and providing light for our nighttime party I made these candle holders with leftover wire, up-cycled jars, and tealights from Halloween. Another one of my “free” 4th of July Decorations.
