Welcome in the summertime with laid-back outdoor activities that will delight your family and guests. They are so easy and refreshing you will enjoy them all summer.
4th of July Desserts
These easy delicious desserts are sure to delight your family and guests. When I think of summer desserts or 4th of July desserts I think of fresh fruit and cheesecake, ice cream and frozen treats, fun cookies, and cupcakes, refrigerated desserts, etc.
There are so many adorable red, white, and blue dessert choices you will want to make them all.
Berry Parfait
Everyone enjoys a sweet treat, so I had to create a 4th of July dessert that is cool and refreshing; hence the Red, White, and Blue Parfaits were created.
These red, white, and blue parfaits are super easy to make and have no added sugar making it a Keto-friendly treat. These delicious parfaits take just minutes to make. Grab some berries, and you are halfway there. I made a version of this recipe on Valentine’s Day; you can see that post HERE.

4th of July Crack Candy – Saltine Toffee Bark
Crack candy is one of my favorites any time of year. I like to decorate it with red, white, and blue candies to make it festive. You can see more ideas for serving this dessert HERE.
Using jars as parfait glasses makes them super easy to serve desserts, and they look so inviting. Don’t forget to add that little dollop of whipped cream cheese. Your guests will think you cooked all day. Shh, it’s our secret that these only took minutes to make.

Easy Summer Dessert – Chilled Sliced Watermelon
Watermelon is as American as apple pie and the 4th of July. Why not serve this all-American favorite for a healthy dessert on the 4th of July? Watermelons are fresh, sweet, cheap, and plentiful at this time of year, so chill, slice, and serve.
Fruit Infused Water
To help keep you and your guests hydrated and healthy during those HOT summer parties, I wanted to share my friend’s fruit-infused water recipes, Jamielyn’s recipe from I Heart Nap Time. Let’s admit it, most of us could drink more water, and these fruit and herb combinations really hit the spot. She used jars with fun lids and straws to serve these delicious infused waters. Don’t you want to reach out and grab one?
My favorite drinking jars

Cookie Ice Cream Sandwiches
I can almost hear those words from my childhood…I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream! Kids of all ages will love this cool treat on a HOT July day.
I used reduced fat vanilla ice cream (one of my new favorite ice creams) between two chocolate chip cookies (find my favorite chocolate chip cookie recipe HERE) and sprinkled red, white, and blue candies over the scoop ice cream. Serve these immediately, or place them in the freezer until you serve them.
My tips for the best cookies
- I use mini chocolate chips, so the dough is easier to form into a uniform size.
- My secret for getting all my cookies the same size you can find HERE.
- A must-have is a non-stick silicone baking mat
French Vanilla Cake
The most indulgent of our 4th of July desserts is this delicious and moist cake which makes for the perfect end to any meal. It is an all-white dessert that allows the perfect blank canvas to garnish for any holiday or event. I chose strawberries, blueberries, raspberry, and mint for garnish, transforming this cake into the perfect 4th of July dessert.
This is my favorite French Vanilla Cake recipe (see it HERE).
Decorate a pretty self-serve summer dessert cart or table.
My favorite tools for making garnishes

Great ideas! All of our usual town wide Independence day celebrations have been cancelled this year due to the virus so we will be celebrating at home. These desserts will come in handy.
