Garland
The first step is measuring the area you want to decorate so you can determine how many garlands you need. I used two pine and berry garlands and one eucalyptus one for this stairway.
Starting at the top, I attached the first garland with a brown chenille stem to the railing. Next, I overlapped the next garland attached them together, and then attached them to the railing.
String Lights
String lights are so romantic, so I add them wherever I can.
I wove the lights back and forth through the garlands.
Then I placed the eucalyptus garland over the pine garlands, starting at the top, and worked it in and around the pine garlands and lights. Next, I used chenille stems to secure everything to the railing with the string light battery pack at the bottom of the railing.
Greenery Picks
To fill in the areas down the newel post void of eucalyptus, I wired greenery picks and wired them together.
Next, I wired the greenery picks to the garland and string lights. Then I used a chenille stem and attached the garland and lights to the newel post, with the end of the garland cascading to the floor.
Bells
The bells came with attached looped ropes; however, the ropes were not the correct length. Therefore, I looped twine through the rope loops, staggering the lengths, and then I knotted the twine. To attach the bells, I used twine and tied them to the railing.
Bow and Ribbon
To make the bow, I used high-quality woven ribbon.
You can see how I made the bow in this earlier post.
After attaching the bow with a chenille stem, I made a ribbon loop to cover the twine, string light wire, and bow chenille stem.
I used a stapler to attach the cut ends of the ribbon and tucked the stapled ribbon under the railing.
