My favorite time of year is Fall, so I am in high gear creating fall decor, which means I am creating a ton of fall decor. I wanted to share my favorite how-to’s; therefore, I have gathered these amazing tutorials to make this your ultimate DIY bow making guide.
How to Make a Bow
Gorgeous bows add so much pizzazz to your projects. There are many choices for wreath forms, ribbons, and floral you can read more about in an earlier post. Don’t want to miss any fall inspiration?

My favorite ribbon to tie a bow is a medium weight ribbon with a wired edge. Such as this Dupioni ribbon. See how to make this one HERE.

On the wreath below is the same style bow using black and white ribbons. You can see the how-to video HERE.

Using multi ribbons and the same techniques as above, I made a winter or Christmas wreath. See how I made it HERE.

How to make a bow
I like to make this one since it turns out perfect every time. It has three loops on each side, a knotted piece of ribbon in the center of the bow, and a streamer length of ribbon folded in half attached as the tails.
This style does not require a wired ribbon; however, I prefer to use a wired ribbon. See how to make one HERE.

The perfect bow
Rustic Farmhouse burlap bows are perfect for all your holiday decorating (learn how to make one HERE).

DIY Burlap Bow
To make this bow the easiest way possible, I use these zip ties.
Buffalo Check Ribbon
You know I LOVE Goodwill shirt, pumpkins! So I took it one step further, made a door hanger with a Goodwill shirt, and added this simple bow.
Sometimes a simple bow is all you need. See how I made this simple bow HERE.

This is the perfect bow to use when you want to incorporate more than one ribbon. I like to use multiple ribbons when making this bow. It is the easiest way to make it, and I guarantee you will love it too. Did I mention these are no-fail bows too?

Lanterns decorated for Halloween
My favorite bow tying supply for lantern bows are these chenille stems.

This one has a center loop, right and left loop (add as many loops as you wish), and tails. See how to make this one HERE.

Embellishing a DIY Bow
Some DIY decor projects with custom bows just need a little embellishing to make them perfect. You can use florals and other fun objects as well as make your own embellishments too.
For this sunflower wreath on a tobacco basket with a multi-ribbon bow, I added a fun little embroidery hoop “fall” embellishment. See how I made it HERE.

Fall Embroidery Hoop Ornament
These fun Halloween lanterns I made using Dollar Tree ribbons and embellished them with branches, spiders, and flowers with an eye. To see how I made these scary fun bows click HERE.

This one with red, buffalo check and burlap ribbon needed that finishing touch of the adorable deer embroidery hoop Christmas ornament to be complete. She how I made it HERE.
