Hello, our spring home tour is a great way to get inspired by all the fresh ideas from three designers. Are you ready for some pretty flowers, warm breezes as well as some beautiful blooms? Spring is an exciting time with all the possibilities it brings to my home and family, and as a result, it is like a rebirth or re-awaking. It is the perfect time to craft some DIY projects for decorating.
Welcome to my family room. It is the center of our home, as well as our favorite family hangout. When you open the front door, you look straight into the family room, and you see the fireplace, so I always start my decorating there. I displayed some of my favorite vintage McCoy flower pots on the mantel and used wood slices to create more variation in height.
DIY Spring Crafts for Decorating
Springtime decorating includes Easter decorating in our living room I like to use items that can be used after Easter as well.
Easter Crafts
This year I changed things up a little and added a new bunny banner, standing bunny (see how I made Mr. Bunny HERE), Rae Dunn inspired flower pots, and the bunny pillow applique for some whimsy. The bunny banner, bunny pillow applique, and Rae Dunn inspired flower pots were all made in a flash by my daughter with our Cricut Maker’s help. Below you can grab your free SVG files when you subscribe to the newsletter.
She made this bunny banner with polka dot paper cut out with the Cricut Maker, then she added a cotton tail on each one, so it was an easy peasy project.

Why not make a coordinating bunny pillow applique too? Grab all the files for these designs with the form above. You can find the instructions on how to make this HERE. This cute pillow is sure to put a smile on everyone’s face, so grab that file too. The bunny pillow especially pops with the buffalo check pillow behind it. If you want to create this look for yourself, check out where I get mine HERE.
Mr. Bunny on Spring Home Tour:
Mr. Bunny was created with some old pallet wood, and dry brushed with white chalk paint (see how to make one HERE). Then I finished his look with a buffalo check bow and a stand so he could be used anywhere.
DIY flower pots with spring vinyl decal:
My budget-friendly Rae Dunn-inspired flower pots were less than $2 each. I used this download to create them. They look like the “real” thing. Their price tag is definitely a bargain for one thing, and you can customize the colors to fit your decor. The SVG file for the words is in the download above and the one-of-a-kind wooden tote I made last year, which you can find the instructions and pattern HERE.

That would be perfect for staging a house that you’re getting ready to sell even...like we are, really like that idea a lot! I may steal it!

Your bunny pillow is adorable! I love that, and I’m now wanting to make one of my own. I make and sew pillows all the time, but I had never considered trying something like that. Thank you for a new project!
