Ingredients for Fudge
The ingredients for this easy fudge recipe are easy to source, but you will want to purchase the better chocolate chips. You can use either milk chocolate or semi-sweet chocolate chips.
Chocolate Chips: Chocolate chips form the base for this recipe. Additionally, they add sweetness, richness, and depth of flavor.
Sweetened condensed milk: Adds sweetness, creaminess, and smoothness to the fudge.
Vanilla extract: Enhances the rich flavor and adds a note of warmness.
How to Make Easy Fudge
Prepare a 8″ by 8″ baking pan by lining it with 2 layers of non-stick foil.
In a medium, heavy-bottom saucepan, add the first two ingredients (chocolate chips and sweetened condensed milk). Stir to combine.
Place your pan over low medium low heat. Stir constantly.
When the chocolate chips are almost completely melted stir in one teaspoon vanilla extract.
Stir constantly until chocolate chips are completely melted and the mixture is smooth.
Use a rubber spatula (this is the one I used) to spread the chocolate evenly.
It helps keep chocolate from sticking to the bottom and sides of the pan.
Place the fudge on the counter and allow it to cool and set.
This will take about 4 hours. However, you can speed up the process by placing your pan in the refrigerator. This helps it cool and set faster.
Once set use the foil to lift the fudge out of the pan. Place on a cutting board. Remove foil and cut into squares.
Store leftovers in an airtight container up to two weeks.
