Welcome to our Annual Celebrate Christmas Blog Hop. You will find some festive Christmas decoration ideas to inspire you to decorate and fill your home with holiday cheer. These easy DIY Christmas decorating ideas will have you decking the halls with boughs of holly in no time.

Christmas Decoration Ideas 

You can decorate in the traditional red and green palette or go for a unique look. Choosing a color scheme and theme will guide all your decor choices.

Our Blog Hop starts with Christmas tree decorating ideas. 

I choose traditional colors in red and white for my Christmas room decor and tree. This color combination reminds me of candy canes. I wanted something fun and light-hearted for this year since we have had a long year at home.

For this reason, I decided to decorate our bedroom too. It is lovely to enjoy the decorations as you relax just before drifting off to sleep.

I added a headboard garland, handmade sign, pillows, and a throw for Christmas.

Christmas Decoration Ideas – Tree Ornaments 

I decorated my Christmas tree with simple handmade ornaments. First, I painted the bulbs; first, I painted and then added vinyl decals (read more about them here.) I also made the tassel and pom pom (see how here), wood bead, and felt ornaments. 

 

I could not resist adding the fun Naughty sign (see how I made it here).

Christmas Tree Ribbon Decorating Ideas

I adore ribbon; therefore, adding it to my Christmas trees is a must. When choosing which ribbon to use, consider your color scheme and theme.

Since I am decorating with red, white, and natural wood beads, I chose a buffalo check and a burlap ribbon. I added it to the tree in a flowing vertical pattern (read more about decorating a tree with ribbon here).

 

I added a topper bow that is just like my favorite easy DIY bow.  I chose a burlap ribbon with a candy cane style swirled-edged.

Christmas DIY Room Decor

Since I love to craft and create my decor, I designed and built this tree box with Mr. Kippi at Home’s help. Then, with my daughter Olivia’s preparing expertise, I made all the ornaments.

Simple DIY holiday decor and a few purchased items transformed our bedroom into a jolly holiday bedroom.

Just for Fun

Since we cannot attend all the usual festivities this year, I thought I would add some fun activities to enjoy at home. So just for fun, I am making a simple Advent Calendar from craft paper and filling the packages with my family’s favorite treats (see how to make one here).

When you are decorating for the holidays, you don’t have to stop at the tree Christmas. Instead, continue your theme from the front door into the dining room, kitchen, bedroom, etc.
