Chocolate chip cookies are one of America’s favorite cookies. The only way to make them better is to serve them as a chocolate chip cookie cake. For the ultimate sweet experience, top your cake with chocolate or buttercream icing.
How to Make a Cookie Cake

Birthday Cookie Cake with buttercream icing
Everyone will ooh and aah when you serve this easy cookie cake. The quick cookie cake recipe I use is one of my little culinary secrets.

Chocolate chip cake ingredients
You guessed my secret recipe if you guessed Betty Crocker Chocolate Chip Cookie cookie mix. This recipe only requires butter and an egg. Starting with a mix and add your unique garnishes such as sprinkles, candies, etc., make this a super easy and quick cookie cake.

Cookie Cake Baking Pans
If you are wondering how to make the best cookie cake, then I have some great ideas. The first is preparing the pan. To save on time and money, I used a 9″ cake pan I had on hand. If your cake pan is smaller than 9″, the mix may over bake the pan’s sides, so remove some batter and make a few drop cookies too.

Tracing the pan shape onto parchment paper
Tip: The bakery chef’s professional baking tip is to cut a non-stick parchment paper pan liner. I use a pencil and trace the bottom of the pan on the parchment paper.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
After tracing my pan on parchment paper, I use my favorite kitchen scissors to cut it out. Next, I use bakers non-stick spray to grease the pan and then place the parchment circle in the bottom.
If you double the recipe, you can bake it on a pizza pan.

Cookie Cake Extra Options
How could these chocolate chip cookie cakes get any better? Well, your unique mix of goodies is how. Did I mention that I love Heath candy bars? Can you imagine the culinary delight that would offer a cookie cake?
Baking times can vary according to your pan size. I baked mine for 20 minutes; then I checked to see if done. I added another 5 minute baking time.
Bake until golden brown.
Note: you can only add up to 1/4 cup of mixed in goodies, or your cake will bake over.
Cookie Cake Icing
Icing your chocolate chip cookie cake, what could be sweeter? If you are making a birthday cookie cake, then adding icing is a must. You can frost the entire cake or pipe with a pastry bag around the edge.
Allow the cake to cool to room temperature around 25 minutes before icing.
Note: I used dark chocolate cocoa powder.

The pop-ups on your page are out of control. Would've been awesome to be able to actually see and use this recipe, but all the moving pop-ups made me EXTREMELY nauseous and dizzy, so much so that I wasn't able to make a cake at all today. Please consider using different types of ads than the moving pop-ups all over the place. This can really cause some bad medical issues for some people. Just thought you'd want this honest feedback. It's hard to even type this comment, because the text box is partially blocked by more of the popup crap. Ugh.
