The first decoration I put up for Christmas is a wreath. I love a gorgeous wreath on the front door, walls, mirrors, windows, chairs, etc.
Making your own wreath is so much fun; you can customize it to fit your taste.
I will be sharing how to make this adorable dried orange slice wreath, as well as more wreath ideas at the end.

Wreath Supplies
Using dried orange slices and velvet ribbons for decorating adds a vintage style; however, using the macrame hoop as the form gives it a hip vibe.

- Metal wreath form
- Wire cutters
- Wire
- Dried orange slices
- Velvet ribbon
- Scissors
- Hot glue and glue sticks
- Needle nose pliers
How to Dried Orange Wreath
The first step to creating a wreath is planning the design. I like to bend the wire of the floral picks to form them into a metal form shape.

Next, attach the floral/greenery to the metal form with wire.

Then, attach the next pick over the first one using wire.

The size of your form and the amount and placement of your greenery will predict the space available for your dried orange slices.
Glue one on either side of the center area. Then glue the last orange in the center of the other oranges.

Velvet ribbon is an understated elegance for this easy natural wreath, making it a great choice for a Christmas wreath.
You can make a bow the same way you tie a bow on a shoe, or you can get fancy and make a double or triple-loop bow.
After you make the bow run a wire through the back of it so you can attach it to the form. You can use the wire to make a wire loop as a hanger or use a piece of ribbon for the wreath hanger.

I glued pieces of leftover ribbon to the underside of the orange slice to cover the holes.

Couple of questions: Do you use real or faux greenery? If faux, what is the best source? And for ribbon, what is your best source for ribbon? I’m thinking Michael’s perhaps?
