How Long do You Cook a Dump Cake
The cook time could vary depending on the size of your pan. Usually, a 9″ by 11″ casserole dish bakes 45 minutes (up to 55 minutes).
However, when cooking this recipe in a dutch oven, the cooking time varies over a campfire. Make sure you use the lid and add coals to the top of the cover. Check for doneness at 20 minutes.
More Cake Options
You can alter the basic dump cake recipe by substituting a white or chocolate cake mix.
You can choose different fruits and pie fillings such as apple pie filling, peach, or blueberry pie filling.
Also, you can omit the nuts or add any type you like; besides, you can add shredded coconut.
If you prefer more butter, add a half stick of butter, and you can also melt the butter and drizzle it on the top before baking.
Serving Suggestions
Our favorite way to serve the cake is warm with vanilla ice cream and whipped cream.

If you like a delicious rich chocolate overload, you will love this super easy cake recipe. A friend of my mother gave me this recipe when I was 12 years old. During a visit to her home and she served this decadent chocolate cake, and I asked for the recipe on the spot! I like to make it with super dark chocolate; however, semi-sweet and milk chocolate are options for this cake recipe.
