Seashell Angel Ornaments

Sharing is caring!

Seashell angel ornaments are easy to make. They’re a great way to enjoy the shells you collect at the beach. Instead of keeping them in a jar, I can display them as adorable angels.

How to Make Seashell Angels

These adorable angels are so easy to make; you will want to make a ton.

Seashell Angel Supplies

  • Seashells
  • Paint (white)
  • Pearl paint
  • Gold paint
  • Hot glue gun and glue sticks
  • Circle cutter (this is the one I used)
  • Cardstock paper (white)
  • Wood bead
  • Chenille stem
  • Ribbon
  • Pearl

Painting

You can watch this How-to video before you begin.

Clean and dry your shells before painting them. Next, paint shells and wood beads with white craft paint.

I used a wood shish kebab skewer to hold the wood beads while I painted them.

Allow paint to dry before starting the next step.

Next, paint the shells with pearl white metallic paint and allow them to dry.

I painted a band of gold paint around the larger body shell to decorate the shell. However, you can omit this step or decorate the body shell any way you like.

Seashell Angel Halo

To make a halo, I used a chenille stem for this one, and I used gold wire for the other ones.

The hole in the wood bead is where I installed the halo with a tiny drop of hot glue.

Assembling

Once all the paint is dry, it is time to assemble your angels.

Cut one cardstock paper circle for each angel.

Before gluing the body shell, place all body parts in a paper circle to plan the placement.

Once satisfied with the shell placement, glue the body shell on the paper.

Next, attach the head with the halo already attached.

Make a bow with 1/4″ ribbon, then glue it under the bead head.

To create a hanger, cut a piece of 1/8″ ribbon into the length you need for a loop hanger.

Then, glue it to the back of the circle of paper.

I added an embellishment to the center of my angel’s bow.

See you soon,

Seashell angel ornaments are typically crafted from various seashells to create the form of an angel. They can feature shells for the body, Mapquest Directions wings, and head, often embellished with paints, glitter, or other decorative elements
