How to Make a Tulip Wreath Step by Step
The best part about making this gorgeous wreath is how easy it is to create.
How to Find Tulips for Your Wreath
Finding enough tulips in one color has been a challenge during the current health situation, to say the least. Three years ago I decided I would make a tulip wreath when I saw tulips at the Dollar Tree, however, there were not enough tulips.
The next spring we were in a lockdown, then last year supplies were limited. This year however was different since I could find tulips in abundance at Michael’s. They were on sale for $1.99 for each tulip bush.
I think I did a little happy dance in the store!
Wreath Supplies
- Wreath form
- Tulips (faux tulips) from any craft store
- Ribbon (this is the one I used)
- Wire
- Wire cutters (these are my favorite)
- Scissors
- Floral pins
- Glue gun (optional)
🌷BEFORE you begin I recommend you watch the How-To Video.
Cover Wreath Form
The first step for making this wreath is covering your wreath form with ribbon. I choose a 2.5-inch ribbon of the same color as my flowers.
I turned over the cut edge and used a floral pin to hold the ribbon in place.
Then I wrapped the ribbon around the form.
After a few wraps, the ribbon began to get twisted so I cut a long length of ribbon off the spool.
Next, I pinned the additional ribbon over the end of the first ribbon, then I continued until the form with covered.
At the end I folded over the cut end of the ribbon and pinned it to the back of the wreath.
Wreath Hanger
To hang this tulip wreath I needed a hanger that would not disturb the flowers, therefore it needed to have a hanger on the back.
I used floral to create a loop hanger through the center of the wreath form.
I love to add a gorgeous bow to my wreaths but this one does not need a bow.
Tulips
I used a 16″ wreath form that was on sale, however, I recommend using a styrofoam form.
For this 16″ wreath I used 16 bunches of tulips (bushes).
I used eight bunches in the darker pink and eight in the lighter pink.
To begin adding flowers I used wire cutters and cut apart a dark pink tulip bush, then I pushed the wire ends in between the rows of the ribbon.
Next, I cut apart a light pink tulip bush then I added them to the wreath alternating with the dark pink tulips.

Note: Since I wanted the tulip colors to look random I did not follow any type of pattern.

This decoration is wonderful, but I'm concerned geometry dash meltdown that if I use real tulips, this bracelet won't last long.
