It is the perfect time to start decorating for spring and Easter, so I decided to make a DIY Bunny Banner. I like to decorate with banners, aka buntings and garlands, for holidays. These banners are so versatile I can use them to decorate my buffet, mantel, mirrors, and more.
Since this will be our second spring during the pandemic, I wanted to make something unique this year. My Easter decor this year is going to have a little Boho vibe. My inspiration for this “new” look was my DIY hanging planter and these groovy painted pots.

You can see some other DIY Easter decor that I used to decorate the fireplace in the photo above. The DIY Standing Bunny and DIY Easter Bunny Pillow I made earlier but recycled them to use this year.
The candles are unique since I can change the brightness and set the timer, so they come on at dusk. The vintage toolboxes belonged to my father. If you look closely, you can see his name written on the front.
If you love these wooden toolboxes you could create some from scrap wood with this step-by-step tutorial.
🌸I have a special treat to share with you at the end of this post. You will find a ton of amazing Easter inspiration from some very talented bloggers.
How to Make an Easter Bunny Banner
Since using a cutting machine is super easy to use, I decided to use my Circut Maker to cut out the bunnies.
DIY Bunny Banner Supplies
- Card stock
- Pom poms
- Glue gun
- Ribbon
- Twine
- Scissors
- Cricut Maker (SVG file)
- Mini clothespins
- Bunny template print out
***For your convenience I have gathered all my favorite spring crafting must-haves HERE.
Please note that some of the photos are from this older bunny banner; however, the instructions are the same.
Cutting out the Bunnies
First, I gathered the card stock (crafting paper) I wanted to use. Then I determined how many bunnies I needed to cut out of each piece. You can see my how-to video HERE.
You can use your cutting machine (I used this bunny SVG file) or print out this bunny template design to trace and cut out with scissors.
I used the mini clothespins to help me determine the placement of each bunny on my ribbon before gluing them in place.
These adorable bunnies needed a little “cottontail,” so I added a mini pom-pom. If you have been following my blog then you know I adore anything with pom-poms.
I found it best to glue the bunnies’ heads to the ribbon. When I attached them below their heads they did not hang correctly.
Please join me (HERE) as we craft up some fun. You can look forward to receiving new inspiration every week. You will also receive invitations for special online crafting events, seasonal and holiday crafting too.

I love how you utilize banners to decorate for the holidays, Kippi. The wreath and bunnies are so cute! Even though I'm not very skillful, I'll try to follow your example because they're so adorable! I'll probably have to arrange my schedule using time calculator to have free time to decorate the house more beautifully.
